This movie follows journalist, Michael Block (LaKeith Stanfield) and the interview he does uncovering so much more for the story and himself. We get a glimpse into a famous photographer, Christina Eames’ (Chanté Adams) life regarding her career forming, her love, her lifestyle, and her parenting. We see how her mother’s ideas shaped her, how she valued photography and how she embraced who she loved.

Throughout we notice the repeated patterns, or cycles in terms of her health and love. We go on this journey through a letter that moulds the story showing the past as it affects the present. It is a beautiful way to attempt to end a cycle through prevention as we see the impact on her daughter, Mae (Issa Rae). It is primarily a romantic movie as it came out in theatres for 2020’s Valentine’s Day but it touches on various subjects including the impact of recklessness and a lack of integrity on communities.
